One of my IRL friends also thinks it'd be cool if there was a Zelda Maker.

Re: Breath of the wild
I played the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild today at my brother's apartment, and I really enjoyed it. I so can't wait to buy the game in the summer, when I'll have more time to play it.

Re: Breath of the wild
My worry is....now what? Will this become nintendos new zelda formula? It's a good game apparently,but... Where are they gonna take it,y'see, this game was a break from the usual formula.but if we just fall into a rut again with zelda, what's to prevent it from being just another open world series now?

Re: Breath of the wild
That makes no sense tyler.
What i think nintendo should do,ijs branch these out, make like,
Maybe the next game should focus on dungeons, maybe it should be a rogue like game.and like, space these out.

Re: Breath of the wild
All games are expensive, to make in the grand scheme of things, however for the amount of content in them, open world games take more time and money than usual, but people eat them up like crazy.but for a huge as company like nintendo, game budget isn't as big an issue as you think tyler.

Re: Breath of the wild
Here are my thoughts.
I bought the switch and zelda botw on release date.
I've put in roughly 60 hours into the game and seem to have done most of what is available. Overall I loved the feel of the game, but once you get used to the mechanics, it becomes extremely simple to play, which is unfortunately a let down for me. Monsters do scale with your progress, but the moves they use are repetitive and simple to either avoid, absorb, or counter. If the enemies had better AI, this games would be better.
Hands down the world is one of the best built worlds I've seen. I do hope there will be updates to help the AI or introduce difficulty modes or something.
The demon statue is not something to worry about. In fact, in the early game he can be very useful in the fact that you can exchange stamina and heart containers for a mere 20 rupees.
About the future of the zelda franchise. I think that the game is currently in a transition state. If you look at recent patents from Nintendo, it looks like they will be getting into VR and possibly AR. So, you can expect with some of the game mechanics, there will be a transition to VR or AR zelda in later generations of the console.
Also, DLC is coming toward the end of the year. So, that's exciting!

Re: Breath of the wild
I have my reservations for VR. And AR....
....but i do think a VR metroid would make more sense than a VR zelda.
There's only so much VR can do i feel.i believe it is good for gaming, but is not the future for it as a whole.
And AR has it's limits too,
Now,being able to actually implant your conciousness into a game is an actual concept that'd make gaming into a new industry as a whole, but moral implications....
And if nintendo does decide to make more zelda games in the style of breath of the wild, (which,.,let's face it,from a buisness standpoint, they'd be bonkers if they didnt make at least another one like it.) i'd be interested in seeing what they can do to spice it up...
And i didn't even know about some demon statue.
I've been intentionally limiting my intake of it until i can actually buy it,

Re: Breath of the wild
Ive still not played a single VR game but I have heard nothing but good from all sorts of close friend gamers. I love the idea of VR for all games. It makes you feel things that you normally wouldnt in a game is what ive heard, and if they can perfect movement and other things, my guess is that most future games will end up portable to vr.

Re: Breath of the wild
Maybe, but first person view for every game....ehh...i have my doubts,
VR works well for what it is,but the thing with videogames? They're so vast in all their forms,
I love harvest moon, but it'd SUUUUUUUCK if i had to swing my arm down to plow dirt and such...
VR is good,,,but,,,it can't be everything.
I don't believe first person makes a game great.or ne to one motion
I believe immersion is a term that's meaning has been too diluted, and has injustfully become synonymous with "good"
What makes a game good, isn't the technology behind it,it's the people and their effort, and whether or not a game's mechanics will work,
Of all VR games i've seen, they're more,,,interactive experiences.or high score based games,,,or barely developed or fully realzed ideas...not to say thats bad but...in the wide spectrum of all games that's not everything.
Also i don't think RE7 is a VR game,it's a game that happens to have VR capability.
The realm of VR is such a grey area...but just cause we can use it,doesn't mean it's going to be everything.
It's another tool we can use but, that's all it is.
I think it has potential, but in the same way that konami views mobile gaming is the future, the bias of VR being the future also has flaws. They are both two different forms of gaming, two extensions of this big mass we know of as the gaming industry.

Re: Breath of the wild
It's alot like disneyland.
The technology behind it is amazing, but if you went to disneyland every day of your life, instead of childlike wonder and enjoyment, you'd probably get bored, tired, and broke.
Day 1" HOLY SUĈ§ , WHY CAN'T EVERYTHING BE LIKE DISNEYLAND?! THIS IS MAGIC!"
Year. 5 "...*single tear streams down face*..i just wanna go home,,,disneland isn't fun anymore,"
I'm not anti VR. I'm not pro VR
I'm for good games.
