if the grumps actually went back to the golden flowers at the ruins they'd learn this from asriel himself,
also.evidenced by the tapes in the true lab where asriel and chara made a pie for asgore using buttercups (a poisonous golden flower) instead of cups of butter,chara laughs at asgore's illness.and asriel probably didn't know buttercups were poisonous.
