This game was never released in america,and it pisses me off.

However,it is a good game,and there is a fan translation online

I'm not sure bout that.originally it was to be on the nintendo 64 disk drive..but that never made it to america due to poor sales,and that version was sadly scrapped.
the final game was released only in japan.and was a gmeboy advance game in the end.
To be fair,there are games that arent ported to america for no reason,xenoblade chronicles wasn't intended to reach Europe,let alone america,despite good sales.

Because they don't think itwill do well in america despite never even trying.

But in the days of digital distribution,it wouldn't hurt to try to release mother 3 here.it wouldn't hit their costs much,because theywouldn't need to pay the price going into physical copies,translation costs wouldn't be that much

I don't think nintendo is to blame,i think it may be more its creator shigesato itoi, but i have no evidence to substanciate any suspicion on either party for the choice not to localize it.
